PTA

The PTA plays an importnat role in school life, they address issues that are important to parents and school administrators. Some of the benefits of having a PTA are:

> Leverage Volunteer Power. The PTA organises hard-working, dedicated volunteers. Parents are ready to help implement school improvement strategies.

> Informed Parents. Involved parents understand the challenges schools face and become part of the solution. By developing a closer relationship with parents, pupil achievement improves, and the school develops a positive reputation in the community.

> Discover More Funds. The PTA are self-funding. They regularly hold fundraising events such as quiz nights, running charity shops, selling refreshments at the school events and lots more. Some of the things that the PTA have funded over the years include:

Lifelike Baby dolls for Health and Social
Camping Equipment for Duke of Edinburgh
Benches in the playground
Football and Netball goals for the playground
Blinds in the Library
Money for buses
PE Equipment
Equipment for D&T
Books
and lots more.

The PTA also like to support the school by helping out at various events where possible. For example providing cakes and refreshments for the Garden Party at the end of Year 6 Moving Up Week.

Membership is open to everyone, you do not have to be a parent or teacher. Should you wish to become part of the PTA please get in touch with the school via telephone or email [email protected] to declare an interest and a member of the PTA will get in touch with you.
