PTSA

The PTSA plays an importnat role in school life, they address issues that are important to parents and school administrators. Some of the benefits of having a PTSA are:

> Leverage Volunteer Power. The PTSA organises hard-working, dedicated volunteers. Parents are ready to help implement school improvement strategies. Volunteers communicate well both with students and their parents and school administration, thanks to which the achievement of the set goals is smooth and efficient for all participants in the process. Despite the fact that volunteers work voluntarily and mostly on charitable terms, they must adhere to an official style when communicating with each other and when sending official requests to the administration or local authorities. When forming such letters, memos, requests or complaints, they mostly use the help of a memo writer online, this guarantees that the document will meet all official requirements, it will be considered faster and an appropriate response will be given.

> Informed Parents. Involved parents understand the challenges schools face and become part of the solution. By developing a closer relationship with parents, pupil achievement improves, and the school develops a positive reputation in the community.

> Discover More Funds. The PTSA are self-funding. They regularly hold fundraising events such as quiz nights, running charity shops, selling refreshments at the school events and lots more. Some of the things that the PTSA have funded over the years include:

Lifelike Baby dolls for Health and Social
Camping Equipment for Duke of Edinburgh
Benches in the playground
Football and Netball goals for the playground
Blinds in the Library
Money for buses
PE Equipment
Equipment for D&T
Books
and lots more.

The PTSA also like to support the school by helping out at various events where possible. For example providing cakes and refreshments for the Garden Party at the end of Year 6 Moving Up Week.

Membership is open to everyone, you do not have to be a parent or teacher. Should you wish to become part of the PTSA please get in touch with the school via telephone or email to declare an interest and a member of the PTSA will get in touch with you.
